Our story
Toolz.live started with a simple frustration: most "free" online tool sites bury a one-click task behind email signups, popups, file-upload servers, and ads that follow you around the internet. We wanted something different — fast, focused utilities that respect the people who use them.
Today, Toolz.live is home to a carefully curated set of tools for working with PDFs, images, text, code, design assets and more — and we're adding new ones all the time based on what people actually ask for. Every tool is designed to do one job well, in your browser, without sending your data anywhere.
Who runs Toolz.live
Toolz.live is published and operated by Opus Tech, an independent software studio. Editorial content is produced by the Toolz.live Editorial Team, and every article is reviewed against the actual behaviour of the tools on this site before publication. You can reach a real person at toolz@opustech.net — we answer every message.
How the site is funded (and our affiliate disclosure)
Every tool here is free, with no account and no paywall, so we are often asked how the site pays for itself. There are exactly two sources, and we would rather state them plainly than bury them:
- Advertising. The site displays ads from third-party networks. We don't control what they advertise, and the files you process are never shared with them — tools run entirely in your browser.
- Affiliate links in some blog posts. Certain articles — mainly product reviews, comparisons and buying guides — contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you; the price you pay is identical. Those articles carry a visible disclosure notice at the top, above any recommendation.
A commission never buys a recommendation. We only recommend what we've used or thoroughly researched, we always publish the drawbacks alongside the strengths, and no merchant reviews our content before it goes live. The tools themselves are never sponsored, and no company can pay for placement on this site. Full details are in our Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure.
How we're different
A few things we never do, and never will:
- We never require an account to use a tool.
- We never upload your files to our servers — everything happens locally.
- We never sell, share or trade your data. There's nothing to sell.
- We never lock features behind a "premium" paywall.
Privacy first, always
Every tool runs entirely inside your browser. Your files, your text, and your data never leave your device — there are no uploads, no accounts, no tracking pixels following you around the web.
Fast and friction-free
No sign-ups, no paywalls, no “install our app” banners. Open the page, do the job, close the tab. Most tools work in under a second.
Free for everyone
We believe everyday utilities like merging a PDF or generating a QR code should be free. We keep the lights on with a single, unobtrusive ad — nothing more.
Built for the open web
Toolz.live works on any modern device — desktop, tablet or phone — without plugins. No vendor lock-in, no proprietary formats.
