Frequently asked questions
Should I include time cost?
Yes — your time has value. If you'd rather work an extra hour at your wage than commute that hour, that's the true cost.
How much is mileage wear & tear?
The IRS calculates 67¢/mile (2024). About 18¢ is pure depreciation + maintenance — the rest is fuel.
Does parking really matter that much?
If you pay $20/day × 250 days = $5,000/year. Most people forget to count this.
